Chris Davis Extends Hitless Streak To 0 For 54

The worst offensive slump in the history of Major League Baseball continues. The Baltimore Orioles are still allowing Chris Davis to take at bats and will NOT give him the BUNT SIGNAL. So "Crush" as they call him (well, he used to be able to hit a ball past the warning track, you know?) he keeps going '0 for' like he normally does. What does anyone expect at this point? This overpaid bust was god awful in 2018, batting 32 points below the Mendoza line at a whopping .168!
USA Today reports:
Chris Davis extended his record hitless streak to 0 for 54 when he lined out to end Baltimore's 6-4 loss to the Boston Red Sox on Friday night.
Davis pinch-hit with two outs and none on, and hit a soft liner to second. The former home run champion is now 0 for 33 this season.
Davis' drought is the longest ever by a position player.
The Guardian site continues the assessment of the worst player in baseball:
In Davis’s case, there’s two major components. First, the Orioles might be the worst team in all of baseball. They went 47-115 last year and they have given no signs that they are even attempting to win this year. A team that thought they were contending might have already buried him on the bench.
More pointedly, there’s the little fact that Davis is the middle of a seven-year, $161m contract extension that he signed in 2016. Considering the ridiculous amount that they are paying him, Baltimore is in a position where they feel they have to keep putting him out there just to get some sort of return of investment here. Davis’s slump, in other words, comes courtesy of the Sunk Cost Fallacy.
In my humble opinion, Major League Baseball is starting to look like a joke to a lot of people who are devoted fans of the game. This spectacle needs to be stopped for the honor of the game and its integrity plus the utter humiliation that Chris Davis and his family are suffering through with the constant ridicule.
How much would it really hurt Chris Davis or the Orioles right now if he is benched for a few games so he can get healthy NON LIVE GAME practice in the cage with his hitting coach?

Just a thought...
